How to play Spelling Bee
Spelling Bee gives you seven letters arranged in a honeycomb. Make as many words as you can from them. Every word must use the center letter, and longer words score more.
The rules
- 1Words must be at least four letters long.
- 2Every word must include the center letter.
- 3You can use any of the seven letters as many times as you like.
- 4Four-letter words score 1 point. Longer words score 1 point per letter.
- 5A pangram uses all seven letters at least once and earns 7 bonus points. Every puzzle has at least one.
- 6The word list is chosen by the puzzle's editor, so some obscure, hyphenated or offensive words aren't accepted.
Tips for solving
- Hunt for the pangram first. Look for common endings such as -ING, -TION or -ED among the letters.
- Try common prefixes and suffixes on words you've already found: RE-, UN-, -ER, -LY and plurals where an S is present.
- Shuffle the outer letters. A new arrangement often shows you words you missed.
- Use the first-letter grid and two-letter starts to see where words are still missing.
How NudgeHint's Spelling Bee hints work
Our hints start with the total number of words, points and pangrams for the day.
Then we show how many words there are of each length, the first-letter grid and the two-letter starts.
Pangrams come next, and the full answer list, grouped by length, is the last step.

What is a perfect pangram?
A pangram that uses each of the seven letters exactly once, so it's exactly seven letters long.
Where do your answer lists come from?
Daily answers come from the puzzle's own public data for that date. The separate solver uses an open word list, so it can show extra words the game won't accept.
What is the two-letter list?
It shows how many answers start with each pair of letters, for example WA-3 means three answers begin with WA.
